At OpenDoor, we have organized our initiatives to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) adopted by the United Nations as follows:

Promotion of women’s participation and advancement in the workplace

Numerical goals
OpenDoor aims to achieve a ratio of at least 15% of women in management positions by the end of March 2026. To fulfill our objectives of more women working as OpenDoors’ core human resources, we will enhance the working environment for women from a wide diversity of perspectives. Details of initiatives are published in the “Database of Companies Promoting Women’s Participation and Advancement” on the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s website.

Acquisition of the Kurumin Mark
In April 2014, OpenDoor acquired the “Kurumin” Mark, a certificate of next generation support established by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare based on Article 13 of the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children (Act No. 120 of 2003). We will continue to improve the workplace environment where employees can balance both their career and parenting.

Initiatives
Apart from the prenatal and postnatal leave maternity programs, OpenDoor has also introduced the following programs to promote the active participation of all employees, regardless of gender.

  • Parental leave program
  • Shorter working hours program
  • Sick/injured childcare leave program
  • Staggered working hours program

As of March 31, 2022, the percentage of female employees was 46.8%.

Realization of rewarding workplaces

Ensuring diversity
With an aim of promoting business targeting overseas and inbound markets, OpenDoor actively employs a wide diversity of personnel. We aim to increase this percentage, including in the employment of new graduates, as we aim to create multicultural workplaces where diverse human resources can be actively involved. In addition, to facilitate workplace diversification and multicultural exchanges, OpenDoor has established a system that subsidizes some of the expenses of English conversation lessons outside the company.

Support for employee health
Among our activities to promote the physical and mental health of employees, OpenDoor provides regular health checkups, stress checkups, and one-on-one guidance by an occupational physician. In addition, to support employees so that they can work in good physical and mental health, OpenDoor covers the expenses of up to five visits to the gym per month as part of our welfare program.

Promotion of innovations

With our system engineers accounting for forty percent of the workforce, almost all our system development is insourced. This enables us to obtain information on the latest technologies at an early stage, and we realize an organizational structure for quick development that will lead to innovative services by adding our own ideas and creations. We will further strengthen these in the future and endeavor to provide society with new values and greater convenience.
